Was it relatively quiet yesterday, today its much busier. At this moment the participants for the user tournaments are joining us also. 12 (old) chess computers will play today and tomorrow in a 9 round Swiss tournament. See the articles about the 'Gebruikerstoernooi' on the website.
Johan de Koning (The King) and Gian-Carlo Pascutto (Deep Sjeng) communicate over webcam with Vincent Diepeveen (Diep), who is not participating this tournament. Gian-Carlo takes his laptop round the games to let everybody say "Hello" to Vincent.
As I forgot my camera, I hope there is still somebody around to make pictures for the website. So you can see some pictures of the playing hall and players.
Oh dear, Ktulu wins but don't ask how! With two queens and a king against a lone king, it doesn't mate, plays 49 moves, gives a queen to avoid the 50 move rule. Than it still plays a lot of moves before mating Joker's king. Everybody was around it and discussing the cause of this error in Ktulu.
