The 30th Open Dutch Computer Chess Championship will be held in november 2010. The exact date will be published as soon as possible.

After the 30th ODCCC we got information that "Richard Hall" played with a version of Now by Mark Lefler. We have decided to change this in the final results.

The last round can begin. Below the pairing, which gives some strange pairings due to 14 participants in 9 rounds.

News on Larry: He had surgery this morning and this went well. He spoke with Don on the phone a few minutes ago and Larry was in good spirit.

The last round starts with a rolling thunder outside as the weather goes a little bit bad. Harvey just fell of a chair, but the game did not start yet.

Just uploaded the games until round 8 in the download section. Although the pairing seems to be made for a quick round at half past 5 only Junior and RedQueen have finished their game.

Last game of the tournament: The King vs. Rybka. People are joking that Rybka might have the Ktulu bug, not knowing how to mate its opponent. But everything goes well for Rybka, it wins.

Pairing of round 9 of International CSVN Tournament 2010
Table White               - Black                    Results

    1 The King ( 4 )      - Rybka ( 7 )      9- 1    0-1
    2 Deep Sjeng ( 6 )    - Almond ( 3.5)    5- 14   1-0
    3 Hiarcs ( 5 )        - Komodo ( 5 )     4- 7    1-0
    4 Deep Shredder ( 5 ) - Joker ( 0.5)     2- 13   1-0
    5 Deep Junior ( 4.5)  - RedQueen ( 0.5)  3- 12   1-0

    7 The Baron ( 3.5)    - Kallisto ( 3.5)  8- 11   1-0

The pairing for the round is known and the programs are started already. Only the web team does not have the pairing yet. But it is worked on.

The Baron plays a curious game against Almond. And Almond hangs in a very bad position, The Baron wins.

We're discussing "what is a clone" again. For a tournament organizer it is very difficult to tell how to detect a clone. In our tournament the TD is allowed to ask for the source code if there is doubt. Furthermore what are objective facts to check on cloning. It is very difficult if you do not have insight in the source code. If anybody has good ideas, we are interested.

The last game Komodo vs. Deep Junior is still busy. According to the specialists, it could result in a draw. And it is a draw!

Pairing of round 8 of International CSVN Tournament 2010
Table White                - Black                        Results
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1 Rybka ( 6 )          - Pandix ( 4 )       1- 10     1-0
    2 Joker ( 0.5)         - Deep Sjeng ( 5 )  13- 5      0-1
    3 Deep Shredder ( 4.5) - Hiarcs ( 4.5)      2- 4      1/2
    4 Komodo ( 4.5)        - Deep Junior ( 4 )  7- 3      1/2
    5 Kallisto ( 3.5)      - The King ( 3 )    11- 9      0-1
    6 Almond ( 3.5)        - The Baron ( 2.5)  14- 8      0-1
    7 RedQueen ( 0.5)      - Spark ( 3 )       12- 6      0-1

Well, an early start on the Sunday morning for our participants. See the pairing below. The games have started, except for the Spark-Almond game. The Spark operator is not yet in the playing hall. Further bad news is that our special guest Larry Kaufman has been hospitalized this morning. We try to get news about this as soon as possible.

Fun: Tessa, Richard Pijl's daughter, is ordered by her dad to bring the coffee for him and Harvey.

We also hooked up a router and a longer network cable, so Don Dailey is now joined the rest of the teams in the playing hall itself and not anymore in the bar. And also some of the other programs are now on cable. Spark lost because it did not turn up this round. We hope Allard will come in before the next round starts. Kallisto lost straight from its opening book. Hiarcs wins because The Baron sacrificed a queen.

Allard arrived at the playing hall. He overslept! And Eric van Reem arrived for making photos and the result.

Games up to round 6 have now been uploaded in the download section.
